Randy

This is a 24yo QH I worked on June, 2012. As you can see, the topline and coat show changes from before starting the bodywork to after I worked on him.  I have not "doctored" these photos. Bodywork and aromatherapy can make a marked difference and improvement. It is important to state that this improvement will only  be sustained if the owner does their part in the "homework.". For this particular gelding, he was "lopsided" with his left shoulder a bit more muscled and higher than his right side (he was imbalanced, with muscles in spasm, and posture not square), he was also back sore.   His feet must be addressed and his hooves properly trimmed and balanced (he had excessively long toes and was trimmed/shod "crooked").  He also needs to learn how to engage his hindquarters, lift and round (collect) his back and top line and not depend soley on his front end to "pull" him along. The stretching and exercises I recommended to his owner will help him to do this as well as build muscle on his top line  (along with properly balanced hooves and double checking saddle fit) if s/he does her/his part. Remember, if one part of the body is not supple and balanced, the body will pull from another to compensate (in this case the right hind was also going into spasm). The body seeks balance and full range of motion. In order to find this, all must be balanced: feet, teeth, musculoskeletal, and posture.
